The Royal Way Program
The program's staff is directed by Jonathan Lewis, who has experience as a Division 1 collegiate player and semi-professional baseball player. Coach Lewis also has coaching experience at the junior college and D2 college level. His experience amounts to over 31 years of baseball knowledge/experience which also doesn’t account for his undying energy and passion for the game that cannot be matched. Rather than boast about his career he puts all his time and focus on what he can do to help develop the players in his program to reach their highest potential. Coach Lewis specialize in player development in all baseball disciplines. Along with his coaching staff, the Royals program offers loving and caring coaches that take player development and character building very seriously as they are coaching the future generations of our community.
Outside of the coaching and progression that our players experience, the program stands apart from others because it offers a refreshing perspective to the game. Other programs focus only on the number of accolades that their teams can accumulate before entering high school. When this is the sole focus of a teams, players burn out before ever playing high school. The priority of the Royals is to make the game about each player’s development and enjoyment of the sport while expanding their tools on and off the field. We believe this to be a more sustainable goal that leads to a culture that develops productive citizens with good character as well as successful athletes. We encourage interested players and families to come check out what we are all about.
Because of our coaching staff and our perspective on player development, we encourage everyone to look to our program as their primary travel ball option and become Royal!

Community Outreach
We at the Oakley Royals understand that we are developing more than just our players physical and mental abilities. Part of this development includes life lesson and understanding the walk of all people fortune and less fortune. This gives you a perspective on the blessing you have received in your life and the thought to always look for ways to give back to those in need. Every Royal player is required to participate in at least one team community service event per season. Cities Served in 2022-2023; Antioch, Brentwood and counting..
Academics
This is the most important aspect of a student athletes journey is ensure that their academics are never neglected. As you move on into higher levels of the baseball ex (high school and college) good grades are a must to participate and to transfer to and play college ball. Players in our program must submit their report cards every semester to ensure they are in good standings academically. The goal is install the importance of valuing academics early in our players minds so that way they have an impenetrable understanding that good grades and sports go hand in hand if you want to succeed in the sport.
